Sierra Madre Super Summer


Join the Sierra Madre Super Summer Reading Program! From June 7th to July 26th, read & record every book or e-book you read in the summer, then turn in your log to redeem prizes.
This summer, you can also participate in Operation Support Sierra Madre Local! Whether you find a free community event, hike a trail, check out local museums, or support a business, you can earn a prize at the Library prize from the Library when you log twenty activities.

Thor’s Reptiles
Summer Reading Kickoff: Saturday, June 7, 10:00 am - Sierra Vista Park
Celebrate with us as we start off our Summer Reading Program in the best way possible, with reptiles! Fun for all ages! Enjoy a family-friendly, hands-on entertaining and educational program featuring arthropods, amphibians and reptiles of all sizes, while learning about the animals presented. No registration required. 

Bubblemania
Monday, June 16, 10:00 am - Memorial Park Bandshell
Join us at the Memorial Park Bandshell for a family-friendly bubble event presented by Bubblemania. This will be in place of our regular Monday morning programs. We also will have bookworm face painting by Library Board Trustee Diane Sands at 10:00 am! No registration required.

Christopher T. Magician 
Saturday, June 21, 10:00 am - Memorial Park Bandshell
Join us at the Memorial Park Bandshell for a family-friendly magic show presented by a Magician Christopher T. Magician. Audiences can expect to  interact, shout, help, and participate in this engaging magic show. 

Noteworthy Puppets 
Monday, July 14, 10:00 am - Memorial Park Bandshell
We’ve got a special storytime in July thanks to Noteworthy Puppets!If you’re ready to see a production of Three Little Pigs: The Puppet Musical stop by Memorial Park Bandshell and enjoy this delightful performance. This will be in place of our regular Monday morning programs. No registration required. 

Michael Rayner 
Saturday, July 19, 10:00 am - Memorial Park Bandshell
Michael’s show has been described as “preposterous brilliance” and “wacky jugglement,” a combination of hilarious tricks and stunts with uproarious stand-up. Join us for this family-friendly event. No registration required.

Reading Buddies
Mondays & Thursdays 3:30 - 5:30 pm
Kids can read with a friendly high school volunteer and work on their literacy skills all summer long! No registration required.

Saturday, June 14 at 10:00 am - Scribble Bots
Saturday, June 28 at 10:00 am - Reptile Bots
Saturday, July 12 at 10:00 am - Solar Bug Bots
Local teacher, Ms. Richey wants to teach school age kids all about robots and science! All workshops take place at Memorial Park Pavilion. Registration required. Register on Eventbrite or call the Library at (626) 355-7186.

Stuffed Animal Sleepover
Thursday, July 24 All Day Drop Off
Saturday, July 26 at 10:00 am Breakfast
Drop off your stuffed animal at the Library on Thursday, July 24 so they can have a sleepover! Then enjoy light breakfast on Saturday, July 26 at 10:00 am in the City Council Chambers with your cuddly best friend while seeing a slideshow of all their slumber party adventures. No registration required.
