Sierra Madre Moves

Sierra Madre Moves helps residents pay for Uber rides within Sierra Madre and to selected local, regional, and medical destinations. The program is available to Sierra Madre residents age 18 and older with an active Uber account.

Before requesting a ride: claim the voucher for your destination and check that the discount appears in Uber.

Ride Costs & Vouchers

Your total payment may be more than the $2.50 copay. You pay the copay and any remaining fare that the voucher does not cover. Review the discounted price in Uber before booking. Each trip category allows up to 10 trips per month.

You may claim more than one voucher category. Review each voucher's amount, usage limit, eligible pickup locations, destinations, and ride types. Voucher links open in a new tab.

How Your Local Ride Cost Is Calculated

You pay the first $2.50 of an eligible Local ride. The City then covers up to the next $15. You pay any fare remaining after that. The $15 benefit applies separately to each eligible Local trip, for up to 10 trips per month.

The rider totals above already include the $2.50 copay. For example, a $20 eligible Local fare costs you $5 in total: $2.50 copay plus $2.50 beyond the City's contribution. After all 10 Local trips are used for the month, that voucher provides no further discount for the month. These examples cover the eligible ride fare; check Uber for any additional charges.

How to Book a Ride

1. Set up Uber.
   Download the Uber app, sign in or create an account, and add a payment method.
2. Claim your voucher.
   Use the links above to save the voucher for your destination to the account you will use for your ride.
3. Check the discount, then request your ride.
   Enter your actual pickup location and destination, select an eligible ride type, and review the price. Confirm that your Sierra Madre Moves voucher applies before you book.

Prefer to Book by Phone?

Call 1-833-USE-UBER (1-833-873-8237) to request a ride now or schedule one. Use the mobile number linked to your Uber account. Your phone must receive text messages, and a payment method is required.

Claim your voucher before calling. Uber's phone agents cannot add vouchers to your account. The trip must meet the voucher's terms for the discount to apply.

Explore the map and destination lists below to help plan your trip. Select a marker or shaded area for details. Each voucher has specific pickup and destination requirements.

Check your exact pickup and drop-off locations. Map markers and shaded areas are for general reference. A marker does not show the full eligible pickup area, and a nearby address may fall outside it. Confirm the voucher applies in Uber before requesting your ride.

For Local voucher trips, at least one end of the trip must be within the Sierra Madre voucher boundary. The other end must also be within an eligible Local area. Destinations and service areas are subject to change.

If your voucher does not appear: check that you claimed the correct voucher, your pickup and destination meet its terms, and you have trips remaining. Make sure the pickup pin matches where you will actually meet the driver. Recheck the discount for your return trip and whenever you change your destination.

Choosing a Ride

Choose a ride type covered by your voucher. Options may include standard, larger, or shared vehicles, depending on your voucher and local availability. Check the ride price and voucher discount before booking.
